The owners have been running this traditional ryokan since 1912, and they were very friendly and helpful during my stay. It’s conveniently set along the omote-sando, and there’s a bath. The building is quite old, though, and there’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms.

Clean, welcoming, and a great little place. There aren’t private showers in the rooms or Western-style toilets, but it wasn’t crowded when I stayed.

I was sad to hear the inn closed last year after looking forward to staying there every year. I loved the proprietress’s personality and thoughtfulness, the food, and the old-fashioned feel of the place. The souvenir shop staff were lovely too, and I always enjoyed talking with them on my way to Konpira Shrine. I think the souvenir and chopstick shops will stay open, so I’m looking forward to visiting again.

It was a wonderful inn, and I have lots of fond memories of staying there. Sadly, equipment failure in May forced it to close, so it can no longer take guests. Thank you.
