HOTEL R9 The Yard Kohoku

I spent four nights here during the Saga International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, and the price seemed reasonable. With the exchange rate at the time, it came to under $100 a night. There was plenty of parking, and the balloon site was less than 20 minutes away. A few restaurants were close enough to walk to, so dinner was easy to find. I’d stayed at this property in another city before, so I knew the rooms would be about the size of a typical Japanese business hotel room. They aren’t large, but that worked well for me, and I have no complaints about the size. The bathroom is small too, which I already expected. There’s a vending machine and a small laundromat on site. In the check-in building, guests can use the coffee maker in the morning, and there’s a range of teas as well. My room had a microwave, hot water pot, and small fridge, but no cups. I wanted to make tea there and had nothing to use. I probably could have picked up a cup by the coffee machine, but it didn’t occur to me when I checked in. It’d be nice to have a couple of cups in the room for anyone wanting tea or coffee there.

The staff were accommodating, and the room had what we needed without anything extra. These snug rooms in rows of shipping containers on wheels were just right for our holiday getaway location. A light meal was included with the booking, though there are convenience shops nearby. I’d recommend staying here and would come back. 👍🏼🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍🏼

I’d recommend it. The room has the things you’d expect from a regular hotel, and it was great. I just wish it were nearer the town center.

The facilities were really clean, and both the location and service were great. I’ll definitely come back.
