It was a quiet, safe-feeling area, and the walk to the station was an easy ten minutes. There were lots of pedestrian crossings, which made pulling our luggage along easier. The room fit the two of us, our snowboard bag, and a hiking bag, and the bathroom was larger than at other places we'd stayed. Reception staff were lovely and checked us in quickly. Combs, razors, and other amenities were available.

My friend lost her key as we were leaving, but after we called the hotel and gave them our contact number, they found it in the parking lot. I'm grateful to the person who found it and to the staff for being so helpful and kind. We'd been there for lunch on Feb. 23, 2024, at the Chinese restaurant, Marroad Inn. We chose the day's lunch set for ¥1,600: rice, salad, pork sauté, chicken, curry soup, pickles, fruit, and tea. They also welcomed us with jasmine tea. We were full, and the waiters and waitresses were polite and helpful.

The air conditioning was atrocious, and I couldn't get work done or sleep much. My room was 27C with almost no airflow, even with the window open, while the hallway was cooler. Maybe I'm being fussy, but I wouldn't stay here again unless this gets fixed.

It's a good-value choice for business travelers. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was okay. The building is a little old, but the inside is clean. Kumagaya station is a five-minute walk away.

The building is a bit outdated, but I was happy with the hospitality, the cleaning and room service, and the location near shops and restaurants. Great value for the low price, and I'd recommend it.
