The host was so dedicated and enthusiastic, and spoke good English, so we had no language barrier. The house is an amazing Japanese home from around 70 years ago, and it made a great place to relax in Beppu's onsen town.

Staying here puts you right in Beppu, the spa capital of the world, with a bus stop around the corner for getting to destinations in the area. The English-speaking host is kind and there whenever you need assistance. The property is a rare find for anyone who loves art or appreciates historical Japanese artifacts. If you get to stay here, you're lucky. Definitely a hidden gem.

Jun is friendly, knows Beppu well, and speaks English way better than my Japanese 🤣. Ask him for suggestions, he won't steer you wrong. The bus and train are a short walk away, which makes getting around easy. And it's a beautiful home built during WWII that you'll love!

The owner was very friendly and hospitable, and I was really satisfied with my experience. The guesthouse is beautiful, clean, and easy to get to. We borrowed the common room for a meeting and workshop. It fit all 10 of us, and there was wifi plus the utensils and cooking ingredients we needed.

The owner is always around to help and has a friendly, endearing manner. In Bloom Beppu also has plenty of amenities, including a common space that non-guests can rent. The decades-old house itself makes for a great stay, but there's more to the experience than that. Highly, highly recommend.
