A very peaceful spot surrounded by nature, with lovely mountain views. The cottages are bright, cozy, comfortable, and fairly spacious, and most have tatami flooring. The staff were very friendly and keen to learn English. There’s a kids’ playground, a planetarium, and a small castle in the area. Matsuyama city is a 40-minute drive away, and you can also get here by bus.

We wanted to get out of the city and a bit closer to Mount Ishizuchi, and this did the job. The villa was spacious, but there wasn’t much nearby to do or enjoy. You have to bring everything as though you were camping. The mattresses and blankets smelled quite used. A humble place.

As part of the henro house program, I stayed in a staff bedroom and got to meet people from all over the world who were working there for room and board. The program is quite different from a regular guest stay, though it’s heavily discounted. The BBQ dinner was a great change from typical ryokan meals, with high-quality ingredients. I enjoyed the experience, and the location was good. Thanks!

I spent one night in October 2016 and was disappointed with the upkeep of the five-person cabin. When we pulled the quilts from the closet, they smelled moldy, and the cups and bowls in the kitchen weren’t clean. I wondered if that was because I came in the low season. Surprisingly, someone at the counter spoke fluent English.

Lovely nature, alpacas, and a good mix of friendly staff. We had a great time, and enjoyed the BBQ.
