Hotel Peaceful

The prices are reasonable, and you can eat in the dining room even without a meal plan. There are baths in the rooms, but I’d recommend the large public bath.

I know the building is old, but the staff were so poor that I wondered how they could be working at the front desk. I can’t imagine finding a place like this even through the Silver Human Resources Center.

The bath and restaurant were both very good. My only issue was that the room was a long way from the front desk, which made things inconvenient with a lot of luggage.

I booked on the same day for a business trip, and a few parts of getting checked in were confusing, so here’s what I learned about the layout. The underground car park seems to run from B1 to B3. Its entrance is just past the neighboring shop (?) with the red torii gate, and slopes down diagonally. Once you’ve parked, take the elevator to the first floor. On the right you’ll see “Capsule Hotel,” and on the left is a reception area that feels like a super bathhouse. Take off your shoes to enter. This is the front desk for both the bathhouse and hotel. The space has a capsule hotel section and a regular hotel section, so you might briefly worry you booked the capsule hotel by mistake. Don’t worry. Leave your shoe locker key at reception and they’ll give you your room key and bathhouse key. The bath towel set includes a guide to help you find your room. There’s a shoe locker in the corridor for your slippers. At first I wasn’t sure what to do with it, but walk barefoot to your room, where slippers are provided. You apparently leave them in that corridor locker when going out of the hotel area. There are signs by the elevators and elsewhere, but when using the room key, turn it all the way and push the door. The click can be misleading.
