Kenchomae Green Hotel

The location is handy for a bus stop, convenience stores, noodle shops, and a massage spa. It’s away from the city center, though still not too far from Kumamoto castle and the garden. The main street outside is noisy. I’d think twice about staying here again. The rooms are tiny. Two people can’t pass between the bed and the desk along the wall. The shower and toilet share one cramped space, with an old yellow bidet and what feels like 1980s technology. There’s no dresser, just a nook behind the door with three hangers. The mini fridge under the desk wasn’t plugged in, and the TV is smaller than a computer screen. You have to get toiletries, tea, coffee, and sugar from reception. There’s only a kettle in the room, no microwave. Laundry isn’t available in the room or hotel, and there’s no guidance on where to go, just a price leaflet listing 500 yen for washing and 200 yen for the dryer. The air conditioning is central with an old-fashioned control, not a unit you can adjust yourself. Slippers are provided, and the floors have cupboards with free pajamas and extra pillows, though the pillows were too thick. The bed is extremely firm. It’s a VERY OLD, worn-out business hotel with TINY rooms.
