The staff were very friendly, and the room, shower, and bedding were clean and tidy. It wasn’t spacious at all. The bathroom was quite small, all plastic, and not somewhere I could really relax. Breakfast may disappoint Western guests. There wasn’t anything the average European would choose to serve. Also, if you come back late, be aware of the nearby party and red light district. We had a double bed, about 140 cm wide.

We had a large room with lots of amenities, and the view of Kumamoto Castle was a nice bonus. Breakfast was included, and there’s a daily happy hour with a free drink. The staff made us feel welcome, and I appreciated all the thoughtful details. I was really impressed with this lovely hotel.

For what we paid, this was a solid choice. It’s best to think of it as a business hotel and set expectations accordingly. The room was modern and nice, the buffet breakfast was good, and the location was excellent. It was just right for our one night in Kumamoto.

The good points were the location, breakfast, and the nice receptionist. After checkout, I could also stay in the lounge and do some remote work. There was a decent selection of movies, like the kind you get with airplane entertainment. The bed and pillow were very uncomfortable for me, and the room was tiny, with just one table and chair for two people. The curtain didn’t cover the full window and there were no shades, so sleeping once the sun came up was difficult. It also wasn’t particularly cheap compared with other business hotels. It wasn’t a bad stay, but because of the comfort issues, I wouldn’t stay again.

Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby since the hotel is on a busy street, and 7-11 is just a minute away. Kumamoto Castle is about an eight minute walk. The tram and airport limousine bus stops are around two or three minutes away. The location is great, service is good, breakfast is fine, and the price is reasonable.
