Hotel Grand Plaza Urashima

The lounge has unlimited wine, beer, shochu, whiskey, and liqueur, with generous snacks and tasty local ones. The beer comes in rather small cans. Manga comics by the elevator can be borrowed to read in your room, and the selection seems to cover popular titles. Amenities are beside the elevator, though a bag to carry them in would be useful. I stayed at Grand Plaza Urashima. Check-in was around 2:45 PM, but room access and the lounge both end at 3 PM, so arriving early doesn’t really help. The parking lot is across the bypass, with no crosswalk, and crossing when there were no cars still felt scary. Push-button traffic lights might make it safer. My single room was small, with a dim desk area, but the view over the rice fields was great. The room has its own air conditioning and temperature control. Wi-Fi worked fine, and LAN cables are available too. Dinner starts at 5:30 PM and was a set course. Its all-you-can-drink option is separate from the lounge one, with two sparkling wines, three sakes, and beer. The food was good, but the room was cold, so I would have liked warmer dishes. There’s no communal bath, just the bathroom in the room, which is cramped because it shares space with the toilet. There were no outlets by the pillow, which could make phone use inconvenient, though the front desk seems to lend extension cords. Breakfast is a buffet from 7 AM, with a typical business hotel selection. All-inclusive guests also get teppanyaki steak. They said the all-inclusive plan had just started, so I’m curious to see how it develops.

I spent several nights here on my motorcycle. It’s right along the highway and easy to reach. Thank you very much for the kind hospitality.

After work, it was nice coming back to cheerful, refreshing front desk staff. We were welcomed with chilled udon, and the shaved ice was a treat. The people serving breakfast were kind too, so I was very satisfied with the service. The exterior is large and beautiful, while the room itself was average. Thank you very much.

The kinpira and natto were delicious, and I was glad to get complimentary udon for dinner. The front desk staff were helpful and made me feel welcome. The room was old, with only one outlet, which doesn’t feel like enough nowadays. They should provide another power outlet or something similar. There was also a steep step up to the toilet, so a barrier-free setup would be better. Breakfast had a very limited selection. I’d like more Western choices, such as bread, and other drinks besides orange juice, like apple juice or milk.
