Hotel Paradise Hills

For 650 yen, this onsen is definitely worth a visit. The water is good quality and seems like it may actually come from a spring. I only took off a star because it lacks a few things other onsens provide, like Q-tips.

The sauna sayings on the wall are worth a look 👀. It was roomy enough for around 30 people and sat at about 90°C. The TV was off during our weekday visit. We came for a day trip at 1 PM and had the place to ourselves 😊. The washing area had plenty of space, and the shampoos were decent. There were three indoor baths, a hot spring bath, a bubble bath, and a cold bath, plus an open-air bath where we could watch the snow. The cold bath was spring water too, and felt to be around 18°C, though I might be way off 🙇. Watch your step, the stairs down to it were slippery.

There’s a campsite nearby, so this could be a good hot spring stop for campers. The baths include an outdoor one and a jacuzzi, and most felt lukewarm to me, apart from the indoor bath. The cold bath is roomy, and so is the sauna, which has a TV. I visited in September 2025. The exterior mixes old and new, and the renovated interior doesn’t feel too dated, but the bath area does. The sauna door is broken and people prop it with towels. Gaps let the heat out, so the sauna ends up lukewarm. I also saw rubbish scattered around the building.
