Seeing monkeys cross the bridge while we looked out at the river and mountains was one of my favorite memories. Our room at San Yanagitei was comfortable and lovely, with beautiful views of the scenery. The private onsen was clean and relaxing, just right for unwinding after sightseeing. We also really enjoyed the delicious meals, which felt carefully prepared and nicely presented. We were so glad we picked this ryokan for our visit to Unazuki Onsen. Everything exceeded what we expected, and we’d happily return. I’d recommend it to anyone after a traditional Japanese onsen stay with great views, food, and warm hospitality.

The shops and train station are within walking distance, so the location worked perfectly. Dinner and breakfast were both exceptionally good, with fresh, top-quality ingredients. Service stood out from check-in through checkout. The hotel is nicely furnished throughout, from the common areas to the rooms. The great bath is the one part that looks a bit aged. I didn’t try the private charter onsen this time. A perfect stay. Thanks to everyone at Sun Yanagitei. I’ll definitely consider coming back.

The service was spectacular! There are lots of hotels to choose from around here, but this is where you’ll get the most delicious food and the warmest staff. Book this one!

There are a few onsen hotels to choose from here, and there’s also a free Kuronagi for soaking your legs. A free EV ride takes you around Unazuki and explains things, but the explanations are in Japanese only.
