The facilities are old, but they've been kept up well and felt very comfortable. I stopped in for a quick bath, and the water was lovely, with a just-right temperature. It was a small bath, and I guess you could describe the spring as moor water. They currently prioritize overnight guests and aren't planning to actively take drop-in visitors, though there are days when they do accept them. I was told to call ahead and ask.

This is only about the day-use bath. I thought the hot spring water itself was good, but the visit didn't feel like good value. Hours change, so check before heading over. There are two toilets, one Japanese-style and one Western-style, and the Western one has no heated seat, which was freezing. Maybe because the value isn't great, I didn't see any other customers.

The guest rooms are ordinary Japanese-style rooms with Wi-Fi, nothing especially memorable, and train access isn't great, so going by car is probably best. There is parking. I found the hot spring water good, though I wished the facilities were cleaner; some guests may like the retro feel. The food was tasty to me, but it's distinctive and unlike what you'd get at other hotels or inns, so I can imagine it won't suit everyone.

My grandmother and the young kids were all comfortable in the Japanese-style rooms, despite the building's retro, Showa-era feel. We came as a family and were treated warmly by the proprietress and the rest of the staff. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, with just-right portions and careful, high-quality preparation. The whole family rated this inn highly.
