Kusatsu Onsen 326 Yamanoyu Hotel

There’s a hot spring bath if you’d rather stay in, and Yubatake is an easy walk away. The room was clean and had everything I needed, and the staff were nice. If you have ski bags or equipment, talk with the staff about where to store them.

The rooms were clean and cosy, and you can use the nice onsen late at night. It’s also very close to the center. The person running the place was kind and ready to help with anything. A little Japanese is useful since the staff don’t speak much English.

The main drawback for me was hearing noise from other rooms. Still, the onsen bath was hot and really good, and the central location made it easy to find lunch or dinner just a few minutes away. I chose this hotel as a solo traveler because breakfast was included. For the price I paid, I’d recommend it if you want to stay in the center.

It’s in an excellent spot, close to the main street, and the walk from the bus station is downhill. Breakfast was a very nice traditional Japanese meal. Coffee is only available at breakfast, and there’s no kettle in the room. The staff use Google Translate.
