We had a very spacious room, one of the biggest I've stayed in. The beds were firm and separate, but easy to roll together. There isn't much soundproofing from the hallway, though nights were quiet. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk uphill from the main attraction, with several routes. There's a free shuttle connection to the bus terminal, and they are very, very nice. We stayed three days and chose both dinner and breakfast. The meals changed daily, with lots of fresh fish and traditional Japanese food. Portions looked small, but there was plenty and we always left full. During a meal, they'll likely ask what time you'd like cleaning, breakfast, and dinner. The onsens are separated for men and women. Private baths cost extra and were under construction when I wrote this. If you want a better chance of having a quieter bath, 2 just after cleaning closes it may be a good time to go. There's a 300 yen onsen fee each day. Service felt like five-star hotel service. They speak and write only a little English, but are used to translators and were accommodating to non-Japanese speakers. I'd likely stay again if I'm in kusatsu.

The staff made us feel comfortable throughout our stay, even with our infant and toddler in tow. They were amazingly kind to our small, wild kids. We had an excellent Japanese kaiseki dinner, and the hot onsen water was lovely. We booked a private bath for the family, and there were also indoor and outdoor baths for both men and women. Our Japanese-style tatami room was clean, with comfortable futons and snacks ready for us. The older building was nicely kept and had a charming Showa feel. The location worked well, about seven minutes from a large open park and an easy 15-minute walk to Kusatsu-Onsen's center square. A great ryokan experience.

The dinner was delicious, and for the price I thought it was very reasonable. The staff tried hard to take care of us and were friendly. It's a good hotel, even though the central area is a 10-minute walk away. It exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways. Highly recommended, and thank you.

We really enjoyed the food, especially the generous, excellent dinner. The hotel isn't far from the best-known sightseeing area, but staying here felt much quieter.

The onsen was nice, and the staff were really kind. Dinner was delicious and carefully prepared, with great attention to detail. Excellent value for the money, nothing to complain about!
