The location worked really well for us. There’s a shortcut to the family chair that takes about five minutes, and it’s easy to get to the main road toward the intersection or welcome center. The place is also a language school, so there are lots of Japanese students practicing English in the evenings. The staff, from different parts of the world as well as local, were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was probably the best part: it’s a well-equipped, industrial-style setup with lots of burners and two ovens, so we had everything needed to cook. Everyone cleaned up after themselves, which kept it mess-free. The three private showers can be booked ahead. Two are huge, one has a dodgy lock, but they were clean and we never had to wait. We had a triple room. It wasn’t big, but there were enough little storage spots for each of us to keep our things separately. The room was warm too, although I could feel the springs in my top bunk mattress, and some of those mattresses probably need replacing. We’d just finished our stay, and honestly it was better than I expected. It’s basic, but has what you need, and I’d stay again.

It was warm, in a great spot, and cost less. But the beds were rock hard or had springs you could feel, and the pillow was paper thin. There were hardly any hooks or proper storage, so fitting three people's things into the small room was difficult. The shared showers felt dark and unpleasant. Noise from people coming back after a late night woke us, so bring earplugs. I'd rather pay more for a quiet, comfortable night's sleep and a nice bathroom.

The staff were the best part for me. They were extremely helpful and gave great service. The place was kept really clean, especially the shared kitchen, and after long days out we were always glad to return to our cozy accommodation. It’s a convenient five-minute walk from the bottom of the “Family” slope. I’d definitely recommend staying here in the area 💯

The students and staff were so friendly, they made our stay memorable. It’s a basic dorm-style lodge that shares space with an English language school. Highly recommend.

A basic, slightly old-fashioned place, but I found it fairly comfortable for the price, especially with fancy hotels around it. It combines a backpackers hostel and a language school, and some students come to practice English with Western travelers. The rooms are small, with bunk beds, basic furniture, and heated floors. Showers and toilets are shared, and there’s a kitchen plus a large dining and living area. The drying room is a bit small and smelly.
