I don’t get out this far often, but I’d like to come back. The Western-style building is clean, stylish, and relaxing, and although they currently serve breakfast only, it was delicious and a really pleasant meal. The proprietress seemed a little lonely, which left me concerned.

A relaxing, quiet stay in a clean twin room, in a wood-toned interior that feels peaceful. This Western-style pension is tucked into a residential area, about a ten-minute drive from Nakashibetsu Airport. Its European-style exterior has plenty of charm. Breakfast is a mild-flavored Western plate with salad, egg dishes, sausages, mashed potatoes, and bread. It isn’t fancy, but it’s nicely balanced and a gentle way to start the day. The first-floor dining room has a fireplace, making it a comfortable place to sit. The owner is friendly and easy to talk to, and the atmosphere is oddly comforting, more like staying at a friend’s vacation home than at a hotel. There’s no loungewear or yukata, as it’s a pension, but the homey feeling makes up for that. It’s a Nakashibetsu hideaway with the warmth and romance of traveling. Stayed March 21st and 22nd, 2024.

The owner is a gentle, refined lady, and the building itself is charming and stylish. A washing machine is available in the little shed outside for 200 yen per load. Towels and sheets were replaced every two days. There’s heating and a fan in the rooms, but no air conditioning. I liked the atmosphere and thought it was good value. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.
