We loved how spacious our room was, with its private onsen and a view of Mt. Fuji. It felt like a beautiful resort, and the beach is right in front of the hotel, though we didn't have time to go there. Check-in was a little odd. There was no reception area on the first floor, so I had to go upstairs to the second floor to find someone. The gentleman who helped us was very kind and helpful despite the language barrier. I did my best to speak Japanese, and thankfully he could speak English, so I understood what he was explaining. He walked us to our room, showed us each floor and what was available, then gave us a quick room tour and explained breakfast and dinner times and how checkout worked, since we had to leave early the next morning. At checkout we asked if they could call a taxi, but a staff member later told us the manager would drive us to the station. I don't know if they did that because they knew our situation, which we'd mentioned to the gentleman the day before, or if it's a complimentary service. My fiancé and I were really surprised by the help. I'm so glad we booked here and had such great staff looking after us. We'll definitely come back!

The food was a real mixed bag. There was lots of fresh, high-quality seafood, but the menu is fixed, even if you can’t eat seafood. Both meals were Japanese-style and seafood-heavy, so my husband ended up eating rice with a little tofu and pickles for dinner and breakfast. The abalone was still moving as it heated in its shell, and seeing that, along with the lobster and fish head looking at me throughout the meal, completely put me off eating. We also couldn’t get regular cow’s milk. They only had milk, those cheap little plastic cubes we’d rather avoid. We later found out they sell milk in the souvenir shop. The weather was awful while we were there, with nonstop rain, so we missed the sunset and couldn’t enjoy the veranda. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff were friendly, and the facilities were adequate. There’s a free private hot spring; the rooftop Jacuzzi costs extra, though you can use a Chiba-ken coupon while the area is part of the travel campaign.

The onsens were clean, and in the morning you could go whenever you liked. The scenery can be stunning, too. Even though the weather was overcast, hotel staff were outside waiting for us when we arrived and looked after us throughout our stay. Dinner was so good I’m at a loss for words. I’m not always keen on sushi, so they arranged a hot pot where I could cook meat instead. Ms. Kakehasi served us and was attentive, polite, and professional. I was blown away by the service, professionalism, and amenities here. I’d love to come back.

Dinner was served in private rooms, one for each party. Some dishes were nice, while others tasted a little bland. The sashimi platter, unfortunately, arrived almost frozen, so it was too cold to appreciate its umami. I’d expected a hotel like this to know when to serve it. The hotel is right on the beach, and every room has a sea-facing balcony. On a clear day, you can watch the sunset from bed. What a luxurious experience.

The staff were kind, and their service went beyond what I expected. We had amazing food in our own room, and the open-air private bath had views of Mt. Fuji and the ocean, with the sound of the waves nearby. Everything we experienced here felt brilliant and perfect. Thank you!
