We planned this trip after seeing a Hong Kong YouTuber, @travela.hk, introduce the restaurant a year ago. It specializes in Taiza crab, also called the “phantom crabs.” The place is a bit remote, and the price is on the high side, but the food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. It was worth it.

We stayed one night with our family in early April, and the staff were exceptional. The rooms were dated in a nostalgic, retro way that I liked, rather than seeming in need of an update. We booked breakfast without realizing it would be a traditional Japanese sit-down meal, and were pleasantly surprised by it. The hotel shuttle picked us up at the train station. We’d absolutely stay again ❤️🇯🇵👍🏻

The hotel and room had a good view, and breakfast was interesting, with a wide range of side dishes and a great outlook. There’s an onsen too. It’s a quiet town, a little away from the main attractions.

I spent a couple of nights here in mid-September. The view was beautiful, the onsen relaxing, the food amazing, and the staff wonderful. I’d absolutely come back next time I’m in Japan.

Stay for two nights or more, or you may regret leaving so soon. The public and private onsens are well equipped, with a perfect setup and sea views, and it’s a relaxing, enjoyable place. In season, the Taizagani crab Taiza crab（Taizagani) has a taste you won’t forget. The chef deserves a big round of applause. And the Okami’s warm hospitality is another reminder of what great service feels like.
