The room had plenty of space for our six suitcases, and the toilet, shower and sink were in separate areas behind a door from the bed. We could sign into Netflix and YouTube on the TV using a QR code, though the login cleared whenever the TV was switched off. The hotel is about 15 minutes from Kyoto station by bus, and shops and food are an easy walk of under 10 minutes. There was even a takoyaki stand just outside the entrance. Check-in was simple, the staff were friendly, and we paid the city tax when we arrived. There are lifts, plus toilets and a smoking room on the ground floor. Breakfast came in a bento box with salad, mixed vegetables, fruit and pastries. It was decent, but the same every day, which got dull, especially with the vegan or vegetarian option. The bar's tea, drinks and bread were nice.

There are only two washing machines for the whole hotel, which was the one drawback. Otherwise, it was a cozy little place, blending modern and traditional Japanese style naturally. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and it was easy to get around on foot or by public transport.

The staff were so friendly, and I loved having complimentary coffee, tea and matcha that I could prepare myself. My room was warm and comfy, and the hotel itself is really nice. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m back in Kyoto. Thank you!

For a four-star hotel, I expect a different feel. The room size was okay, but cleanliness in general wasn't great, with big stains on the carpet and walls. The staff didn't seem very friendly or smile much. The bar felt bleak, with below-average service and drinks, and there isn't even a lobby area.

The service was efficient and great. Reception helped us switch rooms and had the new ones ready by the time we arrived.
