We were five people staying together, and it was fantastic. The futons were really comfortable, and the roomy kitchen was handy. I spent hours tucked under the kotatsu, easily my favorite thing there. The host was a lovely woman, and the location made things easy: a convenience store and supermarket were a two-minute walk away, with Tambaguchi train station close by. I’d absolutely stay again.

Very clean and simply furnished, with tatami seating in the living room. There’s a full-size kitchen and a combined washer-dryer, and both public transit and Fresco supermarket are nearby.

The house had great facilities, including a big washer and dryer, and the host left coffee capsules and bottled water. It worked well for our group of up to five. We used buses more than the train because the stops are closer, and they go to nearly all of Kyoto’s attractions. Check Google Maps for the bus times, since some routes only come every 30 minutes. It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood. I’d stay here again if I return to Kyoto.

You get good value for the price. The only downside for me was that the location isn’t ideal. Still, it’s in a quiet neighborhood, so if that’s what you’re after, you can disregard my location complaint.
