For exploring Mt. Hiei, L’hotel Hiei is ideally placed, and we really enjoyed our stay. The service was thoughtful and efficient, with everything handled impeccably. I'd recommend spending a night in the peaceful setting of Mt. Hiei if you're visiting Kyoto.

Greenery surrounds the hotel beside the Oirase river stream, and the staff were friendly and helpful, always smiling at guests and visitors alike. I stayed a few days in a river stream view room and loved watching the Oirase river stream, with its flowing water and birdsong in the mornings and evenings. The resort has indoor and outdoor hot springs, and shuttle buses run to nearby sights such as waterfalls and river streams, as well as tours or trails. A great choice for nature loving travellers in Aomori, Japan.
