Mulan Hostel

The maps from the staff were really useful for finding our way around, and breakfast was at cafe ran zan just on the next street, a cozy spot. The kitchen and lounge looked lovely too, and my Mom🤠 enjoyed the coffee machine. The whole place has that boutique hotel feel. Staff were super kind, the beds were very good, and the rooms and furniture seemed new. I liked the desk with its reading light and the decent curtains. The shared washing room had a nice look, and Mulan had great amenities, including facial cleanser. One thing I missed was a reading lamp beside the bed.

A small, clean hostel with really kind, respectful staff who speak English. The service was better than I expected. I'd happily recommend staying here.

We spent two weeks here and had a lovely time. The neighborhood made getting around easy, and there are nature walks and short hikes by the river and mountains nearby, plus an onsen about a five-minute walk away. Our private Japanese-style room was simple and clean, with a comfortable mattress and linens. The shared spaces were practical and well kept. The owners are a very sweet, caring couple who put a lot of love into the place. I recommend it!

The location made the stay for us: a bus stop is a minute away, the train station is a three-minute walk, and the onsen is about five minutes away. The river and the busy restaurant area are roughly ten minutes on foot, with more train stations and bus stops there too. A hiking trail is only two minutes away. We stayed two weeks in the private Japanese room. It was quiet, super clean, and had great amenities. They even use a Dyson vacuum! The owners were sweet and accommodating, and we'd definitely come back.
