My first-floor room, Ume, was spacious and comfortable, with its own onsen on the porch overlooking a beautiful garden. The food was a highlight too. Each meal celebrated local seafood and produce, and every dish felt like a poem. The staff made sure I enjoyed my two days and helped me get to my next stop in Matsue City. I arrived at Izumo late after my plane came in behind schedule. The taxi driver called ahead to let the staff know we were on our way, and they welcomed me like long-lost family and served me a hot dinner. Everything was top-notch: the location, staff, food, and onsen. I highly recommend Saginoyusou. If you want to explore the region and really enjoy it, consider spending time here. I hope to return for a longer stay in another season.

I stopped for a quick soak while cycling and really liked the place. It's quiet and relaxed, and the staff were friendly even though I must have looked sweaty and unwashed. I especially recommend the open-air bath. When I wrote this, the bath fee was 700JPY. Day guests had to arrive before 2pm or after 6pm. The earlier time is a good bet, since there tend to be fewer people.

The food was good, and the ryokan seems to have been renovated. There’s a main indoor bath and an outdoor one, plus two private baths you can reserve. Some rooms also have a private Onsen bath just outside.

A great Onsen hotel in a quiet area. The meals were brilliant, with options for meat eaters, seafood lovers, and vegetarians. The rooms with onsen were brilliant too.

The snowy Japanese garden view from the room was stunning. The hotel was nice, and getting to Adachi Museum was easy, just a few steps away.
