The bathroom was fabulous, and I especially liked being able to choose between traditional floor sleeping and modern beds. Our room was great too. There’s very little space by the entrance, so finding room for our suitcases was a bit of a problem. Still, it’s in a great spot right by the train station, with lots of little shops and places to eat within walking distance. I loved this hotel and highly recommend it.

I forgot to include a note with my reservation, so I’d like to ask for a non-smoking room for my Deluxe Twin (Japanese Western Room) booking in April 2026. We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Banister Kyoto and would definitely recommend it. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and spacious, with a great bathroom. There was a small hot water problem at first, but the staff fixed it quickly. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. The location was perfect, central and with easy access to Kyoto Station, so getting around was very convenient.

The breakfast was some of the best we had on our trip, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient, and the room was fairly large, comfortable, and modern. Outside, though, it’s a corner by roads and a train track, not the coziest part of Kyoto. If you don’t mind a bit of white noise from outdoors, there’s no reason not to stay here. It’s in a place you might not expect.

Natalie at reception was so helpful, and her colleague did a lot to help my friends and me find our way around Kyoto. They were both really friendly, and we enjoyed our stay. I’d stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. We were the girls from London. Thanks so much, Natalie!
