I didn’t stay here, but I came across this lovely food spot and a really nice woman hosting it.

For just 1,000 yen, the Kimagure Lunch was amazing. I’ve tried plenty of food around Shirahama, and this really stood out. The cook joked that eating more would make me lose weight. I’m leaving five stars to show my thanks and support. I’ll be back, thank you! 👋

The food was just average, and I won’t be coming back. I went for seafood lunch with a friend, but the restaurant required each of us to order a dish, even though I have a small appetite and had hoped to share one. I couldn’t finish mine and left almost all of it, which felt like such a waste. I wish they were more considerate of people who don’t eat much. The place is small, with tables so close together that it felt uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We stayed over New Year’s and loved the building and room design. My whole family thought it was cool, and they want to come back in summer. The room was exactly like the photos, clean and tidy, with towels and toothbrushes for everyone. There were no beds, and no bathtub, though the shower was nice. The beach was about a six-minute walk away, with illuminations, and we could park at a nearby pachinko parlor. Plenty of shops were close by. There were fireworks at midnight, but we were tired after the amusement park and slept through them. The guidebook had detailed explanations and photos.

Getting around by taxi can be difficult in Shirahama, so I’d recommend having a rental car for this place. One evening from around 6 PM, no taxis were available for about two hours, and they weren’t answering calls or taking bookings. That may have been related to COVID-19. If you do need a taxi, mentioning the nearby okonomiyaki restaurant, Ito Dental Clinic, or “Shirahama 3300” should help the driver find the place. The accommodation matches the photos. The cafe is closed, so plan ahead for dinner. In the room, the air conditioning works well, and there’s a microwave and kettle. For longer stays, they provide air freshener and a lint roller, which were handy to use each day. There’s also a footbath and convenience store within walking distance.
