Hotel Coganoi

The large baths were a real highlight, and the rooms were spacious and clean. It's a very nice hotel close to the sea, with great staff and a luxurious dinner buffet that has fresh seafood and something for everyone. There's also a game center, karaoke rooms, table tennis, and a ball play area for kids. The only drawback is that the nearest regular store is a bit far, while refreshments at the hotel are quite expensive.

The night view of the garden light show is beautiful, and it's nice to stroll around. We visited in August, though the balcony and the sitting area behind the sliding doors were too hot during the day. The air conditioning kept the room itself comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets were lavish, delicious, and had incredible variety, including coffee, tea, fruit juices, and soft drinks. Alcohol costs extra, and you should make reservations. There are large indoor and outdoor pools as well as onsens. A few things were disappointing: there was no coffee maker or coffee in the room, not even instant coffee or hot water packs. The free Wi-Fi kept dropping in our room, though it worked better elsewhere. By the pool, my Pixel had no phone or internet reception with roaming turned off. There was just one room key for three adults, which was inconvenient. Pool and onsen hours were limited, disappointing the children and frustrating the adults. The free shuttle to and from the station was infrequent and made too many stops, so I'd advise taking a taxi.

This place was okay, but at a similar price you could get something better. Yukai Resort Senjo has a much nicer sea view from the onsen and better service. I couldn't use this hotel's swimming pool because it was closed.

The public bath is very kid-friendly, with Japanese tatami on the floor so it's soft underfoot and even babies can enjoy bath time with you. Kids can also play in the children's space if you arrive early. The hotel is near well-known spots in wakayama, including sandanbeki（Sandanbeki）, senzyoziki（Senjojiki）, and adventure world.
