There are four communal bath facilities, and they'd be especially nice in autumn or winter. The hotel has good facilities, a smooth check-in, decent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. The location is good too, and the cost is reasonable. The big drawback is that the room has no toilet, so you have to go outside even for a quick trip. The shared toilet area smells, including when walking beside it, and should be looked after. The washroom itself is good. Wi-Fi is free, but the connection is weak. All out good.

The staff work hard, and guests with full-body tattoos are allowed in the baths, which is rare. The outdoor baths aren't very hot, so you can stay in them longer. The rooms have neither a sink nor a toilet, and the thin walls let you hear people coughing, talking, and walking between rooms and the not-very-clean shared bathrooms. Wi-Fi is extremely weak and unstable. The breakfast buffet seems unchanged since the early 80s.

What stood out most were the three huge outdoor onsens and the large indoor one. Breakfast was tasty, with a great view. I booked for January 2023, around New Year, and compared with my other bookings in the area at that time, this was the cheapest, with a larger, cleaner room. I gave it four stars because the toilet is shared and outside the room, which wasn't convenient for me.

The staff were really kind and friendly. We got there before check-in, and they let us leave our luggage. It's also conveniently close to one of the attractions.
