Bijuu Kyoto Hotel pairs contemporary design with its location near Gion and the area's historic character. The rooms are pared back but thoughtfully put together, with custom furniture, selected art, and oversized tubs that make for a private retreat. Its idea of balance comes through in comfort without excess and tradition without clichés. Staff are warm but discreet, offering omotenashi in a modern way. Bijuu feels like both a gallery and a home, and suits travelers who care about design, privacy, and authenticity. The stay felt like stepping into a carefully composed picture of Kyoto as it changes.

This place made our Kyoto trip feel even more magical. The photos when we booked didn’t do justice to the beautiful materials or the way the space was designed. At times, I felt like I was in a Wong Kar-Wai film. The staff were incredible, and shops and Kyoto station are within walking distance. Highly recommended.

The design throughout this boutique hotel is outstanding, with charming little details everywhere. The accommodation was amazing, especially the sauna and huge bathtub. Good location, kind service. I’d recommend it.
