Hopetree Kyoto

My wife and I stayed for a few days in February. Friendly staff and very nice rooms. Having a burner, washer, dryer, and sink made preparing meals much more convenient. There’s a convenience store close by, and some sights are within walking distance. The only thing that bothered me was an unexpected tax or similar charge when we arrived. We didn’t really understand why it was added.

It’s a cozy, well-equipped small property, with a washing machine, dryer, sink, refrigerator, and other useful facilities. Being able to choose amenities before going into the room was a nice touch. Keep in mind that Kyoto hotels charge an additional “historical place” tax of JPY400 per day, payable in cash at check-in.

We spent three days and two nights here while visiting Kyoto, and both my friend and I were happy with the stay. After a long day, it was a calm, cozy place to sleep, with everything a tired traveler needs: air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a kitchen, and a clean bathroom. It’s about two minutes from a 7-Eleven, in a rural yet central part of Kyoto. The suburbs are lovely to see both day and night. If you need a hotel in Kyot, definitely go here. You won’t regret it!
