Capsule Hotel CONTINUE Nijojo-Kita

I had a good one-night stay. The capsule was comfortable, check-in was easy, and it was very quiet. The location worked well for me and is close to the castle. There are five floors, and you have to use the stairs because there isn't an elevator.

Having your own space and easy access to your things is great, even though you can still hear people and snoring. This was my first time booking a whole capsule room instead of just a bed. The staff are really sweet and the service is very good. You even get a pair of slippers each time you go in. I was very happy with it and definitely recommend it 🤩

The common area was only mediocre, and the dorm walls are so thin I could hear people shifting their bedding in pods across the room. The showers are independent, and the price is cheap. The location is awesome, though. The nearby castle, imperial palace gardens, and night market are all easy to reach on foot.

My stay lasted two nights. The capsule hotel concept was decent, as were the other staff members, but one particular male front desk employee left me deeply disappointed. His greeting on the first day was a little cold, but I let it go. The next day, he was consistently curt and dismissive with me, without basic politeness. What stood out was how differently he treated me compared with a Caucasian guest he helped right after me. His tone and body language changed dramatically, and I felt disrespected and unfairly treated. Hotel staff should treat guests respectfully and consistently regardless of background. His conduct fell well short of that and had a significant impact on my experience. I hope management addresses it with staff training. Every interaction affects a hotel's reputation, and this kind of discourtesy is bad for the business.
