The room was roomy and comfortable for us, and I especially loved the bathtub. There was also really good coffee for free, plus a spacious, comfy common area. We found the location ideal for exploring Kyoto and going out at night. My only small gripes were that the cushions felt too hard and I’d have liked more natural light in the room.

The common space was a nice place to hang out with a coffee or snack, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, though they can feel a bit stuffy because there isn’t much fresh air inside. The location is very handy, with Gion and Nishiki market fairly close, nearby train stations, and plenty of supermarkets, restaurants, and laundromats around.

The bedroom was very comfortable, and the shared area was a nice place to bring your own food. It’s in central Kyoto, near a subway station. Five stars!

We booked all six rooms for our group and had the whole building to ourselves. The rooms were a comfortable place to unwind after a long day, and a nice size. There was complimentary ice cream in the lobby freezer, though the lemon one tasted a bit too artificial. One hassle: the hotel can’t accept forwarded luggage. Nearby Yamato offices came in handy for sending bags. On the way, stop at Chi Chi for soft serve to get that lemon flavor out of your mouth.
