We spent a few nights here with our daughters and would come back on our next Kyoto trip. The rooms were especially spacious, with large, roomy beds, and everything we needed was within walking distance. The hotel was comfortable, well located, and the staff took great care of us. I’d suggest considering it if you’re staying in Kyoto.

During the busy Golden Week period, our garden unit at Gion Komatsu felt wonderfully quiet and private, despite its excellent location. Staff were attentive and helpful, and the room combined simple style with nice amenities. We also enjoyed walking through the shrine on the way to and from dinner. Highly recommend.

Kashiwa-san was so kind. She arranged a taxi for my husband and me when we needed to get back to the train station, and kept everything immaculately clean and tidy. The rooms were by far the largest we had on our long trip through Japan, and it was a wonderful place to stay.

Kashiwa-san is a wonderful hostess, and the location puts you close to most of the main attractions. The service was top notch, on a level with any luxury hotel.

We stayed in the garden room, and it was lovely. The place is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the host is incredibly helpful and sweet.
