The hosts were lovely and full of useful information. They also let us leave our bags for a few hours on our last day. The place is quiet, clean, and comfortable, with a large room, futon beds, good natural light, a well-equipped kitchen, and a very clean shared bathroom and toilet. It’s a traditional Japanese guesthouse in a great spot for central Kyoto. We could walk to a lot of places, and good bus routes are right nearby.

We stayed at Guest House Abiya for three nights and found it cozy and lovely. It had everything we needed, including a kitchen, shower, washing machine, air-conditioning, and umbrellas that came in handy on a rainy day. The hosts were friendly and really helpful. The location worked well too, close to Pontocho neighbour, The Imperial Palace, and lots of transport. It gets very quiet at night. We’d definitely stay again. Thanks so much!

There’s a bus stop close by, and the shared space is roomy with tea and hot water available. The guesthouse room is quite large and has what you need: a comfy mattress, thick blanket, heater, dryer, towels, and more. The bathroom and toilets were super clean, and there’s a free washing machine. The walls are a little thin, so street noise or sounds from other rooms can carry, but they provide earplugs. It’s a nice, cozy guesthouse.
