It’s small compared with New Zealand rooms, though almost spacious by Japanese standards, and had everything we needed as a base. Being right beside the subway made getting around so much easier. After a full day of museums, temples, and restaurants, it was a relief to step off the train and be just a short walk up the stairs from home. The Daily convenience store is only two doors down, and there’s a great bakery across the road.

The tatami floor gave the room a lovely Japanese feel, and we had a beautiful stay. There’s a supermarket and a few cafes and places to eat across from the hotel. It’s close to the subway station that connects to the Nara line, and Kyoto Imperial Palace and Doshisha University are within walking distance.

Handy spot, close to the station, a convenience store, and a few restaurants. I just wish there were an elevator!

It’s a minute from the subway and otherwise everything was fine. But the air conditioners were dusty. If you have allergies, that could ruin the stay.

The bright room has a terrace and two big windows. There’s a supermarket and a 100-yen shop across the street, which is handy for a longer stay. 🫶
