GUESTHOUSE KYOTO MICaSA

Coming back to Micasa after a day exploring Kyoto was a treat. When my legs were sore, I could run a hot bath and relax in the tub overlooking the cutest little Japanese garden. It was the perfect base for exploring, in a creative, lively neighborhood with plenty of great local dining recommendations from the owners, Naoki & Yasuko, who were courteous and went out of their way to help us find the pyjamas to buy for ourselves. Micasa is a beautifully designed, immaculately kept Ryokan, blending modern and traditional style. Every detail felt carefully chosen, from the locally crafted products to the delicate tea, coffee, bedding, kitchenware, towels, and especially the pyjamas. The quality was outstanding, and we kept wondering where we could buy things to take home. Staying at Micasa was one of the highlights of our holiday in Japan.

Naoki & Yasuko were so thoughtful and caring. They knew we loved tea and suggested teahouses and restaurants, tried to make reservations, and Yasuko even helped us buy the matcha soba we wanted to try. Thank you both for the warm hospitality. We hope to return! Micasa feels like a zen haven for anyone who loves design. Every corner is carefully considered, and the house is immaculately clean. The locally handmade furniture, bedding, towels, bath amenities, kitchenware, and pyjamas showcase Kyoto beautifully. We had so much to see in the neighborhood, but still wanted to spend time at Micasa, enjoying the lovely tea and coffee ware and the luxurious bathtub overlooking a quaint private garden. It was a wonderful place to relax while feeling excited to try everything.
