Nice Kyoto

The proprietor was kind and helpful, and even agreed to meet us early so we could leave our bags when we arrived in town. The home has cute decorations and could comfortably fit about six adults. The upstairs tatami room was cozy for sleeping in winter, though I can't say how it would be in summer. The kitchen is small but usable, as are the bathroom and wash room. It's a budget-friendly option for a group, but nothing spectacular, and I'll probably choose a proper hotel next time. It's some distance from central Kyoto, though the light rail or JR make getting into the city easy. The area isn't very tourist-friendly, even if you know some Japanese, so be prepared to look around for a decent dinner without annoying the locals. The side street is also surprisingly busy and noisy for a little alley.
