Hazuki Kyoto

Being able to book the communal bath made our stay especially relaxing. The hotel is in a traditional Japanese style and very comfortable, with a great location within walking distance of the popular Gion district and other lovely parts of Kyoto. The host was easy to reach by text whenever we had questions. Staff were also wonderfully helpful: they mailed a water bottle we'd left behind to our next hotel in Tokyo at no charge. A friendly and comforting place to stay.

We loved how calm it was at Hazuki, both in the quiet neighborhood and inside the inn. It's just off the tourist trail, but an easy walk to the river and train stations, with a grocery store nearby. Coming back each evening to unwind and sleep well was lovely. The tub downstairs was great after a day visiting Kyoto's temples and sights. Our spacious one-bedroom suite worked perfectly for our family of four. There was ample suitcase storage, separate toilet and shower rooms, comfortable tatami throughout, and futons for sleeping. The AC was much appreciated in the summer heat. Although other guests were staying in the other rooms, we didn't notice them. The host was easy to contact on WhatsApp. We appreciated the friendly information about the inn, the area, and transport options. If I get the chance to visit Kyoto again, I'll book Hazuki.

It's very clean and quiet, and the host was so nice and helpful. Mass transit is less than a 10-minute walk away. The traditional Japanese beds are on the floor and comfortable, and the place has everything you need when traveling light. There's even a small shared kitchen, though with so much good food around, why cook? My five-year-old loved it. I'm leaving tomorrow and already feel sad. I'd stay here again if I came back.

The old wooden walls mean you can sometimes hear people in other rooms, as earlier reviews mentioned. It didn't bother us much, and guests kept their voices down at night. We had all the basics in our spacious, comfortable quadruple room, including under-bed heating, shower gel and shampoo, a hair dryer, and towels. Downstairs in the front room there was a water cooler, tea, and coffee. Staff kindly let us leave our luggage after checkout. We really liked the tatami room and its beautiful interior. I'd highly recommend staying here.
