We’ve stayed here twice on our Kyoto trips, and it’s still our first choice. Everything you need is in the well appointed rooms, and the decor is beautiful. Management is welcoming and accommodating. It’s centrally located near train stations, buses, restaurants, and shops. I recommend it without hesitation.

The rooms are great, the staff went above and beyond, and the location is good. At times their service was better than what we’ve had at some five-star hotels, and I’ll miss that toilet forever. The hotel itself is a little dated. I’d suggest changing the lobby look, maybe swapping the grey marble for wood.

The location was ideal for walking to most places, and the price seemed fair for the comfort and quality. We had a spacious room, high quality bedding, and a luxurious bathroom. Easily the best hotel we stayed at in Japan. I’d definitely book it again if we return to Kyoto.

The rooms were spacious and amazing, but what made us love Kyoto was how welcoming the staff were. My wife, our one-year-old, and I spent weeks looking for somewhere to stay, and this hotel made the trip feel special.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of tasty choices and thoughtful service. Our room was clean, roomy, and had everything I needed, even a hair iron. Alza Hotel Kyoto is in a handy spot for seeing the city, but the hotel itself felt peaceful and comfortable. The staff were professional, friendly, and quick to help. We had a wonderful stay, and I’d happily book here again or recommend it to someone visiting Kyoto.
