The friendly staff welcomed us and let us check in early, which we really appreciated. We were surprised to find a large room with a soft bed, clean bathroom, and space to hang our clothes. Breakfast each morning was excellent, too. Everyone was knowledgeable and nice, and the stay was so comfortable that we can't wait to return. It was a luxurious-feeling hotel at a very good price, by far the best hotel stay of our trip. Thanks for a lovely stay in Kyoto!

I loved the decor and atmosphere at Hotel Ethnography Kiyomizu Gojo. The room was roomy and comfortable, and the service was wonderful, with curious, friendly staff. The complimentary food was delicious, and the price felt like a steal. Out of all the places we stayed during our 10-day trip, this was the best. Highly recommended.

The room was large, spotless, and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. It's right by a bus station and close to a convenience store. Best hotel I've stayed in in Japan!

The staff pointed us to a lovely little restaurant and a cosy bar for gin and whisky fans, both within a 25-minute walk. Getting around was easy too, with a bus stop about two minutes away. Breakfast had a nice range, served as two courses, and reception was welcoming. Staff spoke English.

The room was neat and tidy, and breakfast was good. Staff were kind, helpful, and spoke English, so it was easy to communicate. Definitely recommended 👍
