Hotel Ninja Black

The WiFi was pretty useless. Otherwise, the rooms were quiet, with a massive bed and the biggest room I’ve ever had in Japan. Staff also helped us store our luggage during the day. It’s handy for a few good food spots and must-see places.

We were both very happy paying 4400 yens a night. The hotel is stylish, the staff are nice, and there are lots of amenities. Our room was very large (10m3), quiet, and had a comfortable bed. Excellent hotel, highly recommended!

We enjoyed our four-night stay, and the receptionist who mostly works evenings was amazing. I really liked her energy and how practically helpful she was. There were enough of us that they let us change rooms, even though it turned out not to be necessary. Thanks, we’d be happy to stay here again. The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards and equipped. You can pick up replacement towels or toothbrushes yourself in the reception hall. There’s also a lounge with seating, books including some in English, and a microwave. Family mart and the bus stop are about a 10-14 minute walk, depending on your pace. The quiet neighborhood was one of the hotel’s main advantages, but getting around was a hassle. The closest metro stop is a 20-minute walk away, something we should have researched, though it can be hard to judge as a tourist. There’s no breakfast, and not many nearby choices, so we ended up buying pastries and yoghurts at Family mart and eating in our room. We first had a three-person room with three single beds, but it was extremely cramped and had no space for luggage. After two nights, our group got smaller, so we switched to a double room. We had to pack all our backpacks and leave them at reception for four hours because we weren’t allowed to move rooms directly. Night staff said we could move the bags that morning, but they didn’t pass that along, and the morning staff knew nothing about it and didn’t seem to understand our situation. The double room was far more reasonable by Japanese room standards, with more space and a much bigger bathroom. Rooms aren’t cleaned during the stay by default. You have to ask a day ahead for cleaning, and the same goes for towels. There’s no iron on site, either. At the price we paid, I expected at least regular cleaning and basics like an iron and ironing board.
