We first noticed this place because it opened at 6am, when nothing else seemed to open before 7 or 9. It turned out to have the best coffee we found during our time in Kyoto. Coming from Australia, where coffee is taken seriously, I thought it matched the quality back home. The barista is a real craftsman, and watching him work was a pleasure. The prices were some of the most reasonable we found in Japan, even though I think they could charge more and I'd still pay it. The vibe was great and the welcome was warm. If you're in Kyoto, don't miss stopping here. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

That cozy atmosphere was a welcome break from Kyoto's temple-hopping routine, and the friendly, attentive service made us feel right at home. We tried the popular breakfast set: a crisp, generously filled sandwich with a smooth, very good latte. Everything tasted fresh. A lovely Italian-style coffee spot that gave us a little taste of Europe while we were in Japan. Great for a relaxed morning or coffee stop.

We only stopped for drinks, and they were delicious, but the morning sets other customers were having looked like a great-value, hearty breakfast. The owner and staff were so welcoming. We stumbled across the café around 6:30 a.m. while doing laundry nearby, and it was a relief to find somewhere open. As an American, I'm used to cafés opening at 8, 9, 10, or even noon. When traveling, I want something before the day gets going, so this was a great find.

The owner speaks both Italian and English, and everyone working there was so, so friendly. It's a cute little café not far from Nijo castle. They serve coffee from Napels only, which I loved. We had a Danish and really good coffee, and the breakfast looked good too. Definitely recommend.

We came back the very next morning because we liked it so much. The coffee is amazing, and the breakfast was just right to get the day started. They open fairly early, which is great for Americans visiting Kyoto. I wish we'd found the place sooner, we would've gone every day.
