We really enjoyed the lobby drinks, bread, and games, and the staff were kind and helpful throughout. Our superior twin was spacious enough to open two suitcases, and the room was spotless. It was also very reasonably priced and well placed for getting around Kyoto. Thanks for such a memorable stay!

The lobby has a turntable and a small but good selection of vinyl, which gives the lounge and dining area a relaxing, nostalgic feel. There’s also complimentary coffee, machine-made lattes, three kinds of fruit juice, and assorted breads available around the clock. The hotel feels quaint, cosy, warm, and welcoming, while the rooms still have modern, adequate facilities. It’d be my first choice if I visit Kyoto again.

We spent three lovely nights here. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a lounge with coffee, tea, juice, pastries, plus books, puzzles, and games. Bikes are available for getting around, and the hotel is near a metro station. Our standard twin had a nice layout and a beautiful bathroom with a rain shower head and a tub. The one thing it lacked was a view. I’d recommend staying here.

Ms Kang deserves a special thank you. She contacted JR Lost and Found about my missing backpack, then arranged to have it couriered to the hotel during her shift so she could make sure it arrived and bring it to me herself. Her kindness went well beyond her duties, and we’ll always remember it. Insomnia Kyoto Oike was clean and charming, with a perfect location and sweet, welcoming staff. We appreciated the free coffees, juices, pastries, and snacks. Our family would finish each day in the lobby having lattes and playing board games. Staying here was the best decision, and we’ll be back!
