Shirasagi Kyoto

The house itself was a delight, with a lovely, cozy upstairs living area and views over the river and Kiyomizu-dera. Downstairs, there are two bedrooms, a roomy bathroom with a shower-bath and washing machine, a dryer tucked at the back, and a separate toilet. The kitchen has everything you need, plus a table, and underfloor heating across the ground floor was a real luxury in January. We first stayed here with our daughter in 2019 and loved it enough to return in January with my wife and son. The location and views are great, and the whole family is already dreaming about our next Kyoto trip. The booking and check-in help was outstanding both times. The same kind, lovely woman looked after us, kept in touch during our stay, and even reminded us to turn up the heat and dress warmly during a very cold snap. So thoughtful.

The quiet neighborhood made it easy to unwind and gave us a more meaningful feel for traditional Japan than staying in a busy area. Our house was new, spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, with lovely river views. The owner was kind, attentive, and very professional from the start, which made everything feel welcoming and easy. We'd happily come back and recommend it.

The rooms were clean, and the bathroom and toilet felt modern. Our host was friendly, quick to respond, and helpful. It's a handy spot for shopping, restaurants, and other amenities, and worked really well for our small family. We'd definitely return.

I had a really comfortable stay and would have liked to spend a whole week here. A 24-hour supermarket, convenience store, and public bath with a sauna are all nearby. Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Kyoto Station are both a little over a 20-minute walk away, which makes for a nice stroll. The quiet place sits beside the Kamo River, with two bedrooms and a living room facing the water. It can sleep up to five. One thing to keep in mind: people walking along the river can see through the large living-room window, so be mindful of what you're wearing.
