The check-in was really convenient, right by Kyoto station, and they could take our luggage to the machiya so we could start exploring straight away. The machiya was modern and relaxing, and the bath was spectacular. There’s still some improvement work going on, so the street-facing room can be a little noisy, and the step into the shower room is a bit awkward. Even so, I’m really glad we stayed here instead of a hotel. It’s a great choice for a group or family, and I’d recommend it in a heartbeat.
The location made getting around easy, and we could walk from Kyoto station. When we arrived, they took our luggage to the machiya so we could spend the day exploring. There were six of us and we all had enough room. The soaking tub was especially welcome after a long day of travel, and each guest had plenty of amenities. We had a WONDERFUL stay at izuki machiya and would happily come back.
Check-in and checkout were simple, thanks to Machiya Inns. The inn has a traditional look with some modern updates, and we loved our stay. The location was good too. We'd go back to Izuri.
The one awkward part was having to go all the way to the check-in counter once, since it was far away. Apart from that, the stay worked really well for our group. The room and facilities were very clean, and having an air purifier in every room was a real plus. I'd love to stay here again.
The bedroom facing the street was noisy early in the morning, with trucks and motorcycles going by. I also kept catching my foot on the step in the dim bathroom changing area, which felt unsafe. The kitchen had supplies, though a dish towel or kitchen paper and a towel rack would have made it more useful. I was here on business at Nishi Honganji Temple, and the room itself was spotless, with a calming modern Japanese feel. The amenities were great, and I really liked the coffee. The logistics were clever and convenient: check-in near the station, luggage delivery to the hotel, then checkout by QR code.
