Muni Kyoto

We had a great stay and would happily return. The room was spotless and had a lovely mountain view. Being beside Arabica coffee and near plenty of places to eat meant we could avoid the morning crowds. The staff were really friendly and helped us book restaurants, which is a must in Arashiyama because places fill up quickly.

The staff throughout the hotel were pleasant and professional. I stayed four nights, with my parents in a second-floor room and me on the first floor. Both rooms were beautiful, with a Japanese modern luxury style, but they had different moods: the upstairs felt peaceful, while mine felt more energetic. Younger people would enjoy either one, though older guests will probably prefer the second floor.

We were caught without a hotel on a rainy night after overlooking our booking. Everything nearby was full, so we were incredibly grateful that Muni had rooms. The team cleared them quickly for us, gave us a free cafe drink while we waited, and helped arrange the bags that were coming from Osaka and being sent on to our next hotel. The service was so attentive. When I had two coffees in my hands and was struggling with the door, someone came running to help, walked me to my room, and even opened that door for me. The room was beyond what I imagined, with loads of space, a stunning view, and the softest bed I've ever slept in. The hotel is tucked down a small lane but close enough to walk to the tourist attractions, and you can get into the arabica line early in the morning. So pleased with our stay. We'll definitely be back!

We especially loved breakfast at Riverside Cafe, particularly the bread basket. Muni Kyoto sits right across from the famous Togetsukyo Bridge, with beautiful river and mountain views. Its design feels stylish but relaxing, mixing modern elegance with Japanese minimalism. The staff were warm and refined in their service, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was a luxurious, memorable highlight of our trip.
