The rooms were spacious, among the biggest we had in any city hotel, and the central spot is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and nightlife. That also brings a lot of noise, especially on weekends, so families or anyone wanting quiet may not enjoy it. We wouldn’t return. The layout was confusing. The main hotel is in a separate building about a 10-minute walk away, while the annex where we stayed is a narrow, unstaffed building on a busy street. Our bags were delivered to the main building, so we had to wheel several suitcases through crowded nightlife areas to get to our room. Staff escorted us to the annex but didn’t help with the luggage, which felt below the service we’d had elsewhere in Japan. Cleaning was another problem. Rooms are cleaned only once every four days, which seemed like too long compared with the two- or three-day schedules at other hotels. We paid around ¥1,600 extra for a mid-stay clean, but only the towels were changed. The bathrobes were left crumpled on the bed, and visible 'pink mould' was still in the bathroom from check-in.

We had a mostly quiet stay on the fifth, top floor, and could barely hear the street. The nearby bar got louder on our last night, but it still didn’t stop us sleeping. The area has plenty of restaurants, cafés, and bars without feeling too crowded, and nearby sights are walkable or easy to reach by train. There’s just one room per floor, so it felt private. The unit was roomy, with a big bathroom, full-size fridge, comfortable tub, a well-laid-out bathroom, and large cozy beds. Loved it! :)

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and I’d happily return. My room had a big window looking out over the canal and lively street, and the location was really excellent. It’s a private setup, with each room on its own floor and no staff stationed at this location. If you need to store luggage, the main building is only a short walk away. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are clean, right on Potoncho Street if you want to be in the middle of things. But there’s basically no soundproofing. At night the street gets loud, with shouting, music, and partying until 6 a.m., so I couldn’t rest. With proper soundproofing, this could easily be a 10/10. As things are, I wouldn’t stay again.
