There are lots of cute shops, cafes and bars nearby, in a nice student area. The home itself was spacious and nicely decorated, and good value for the money. It suited our group of five, two couples and a one-year-old baby, perfectly.

A calm, cozy place with a Japanese theme and plenty of comforts. Some of the household items come with instructions in English, which was helpful. There’s free Wi-Fi and air conditioning.

The rooms are thoughtfully designed, each with its own decorations, and the bed and tatami were comfortable. Everything was clean. Finding the exact spot took me a few loops around the area since it was my first time driving in Kyoto. The host had sent detailed directions with photos, but I missed them because I arrived at night and it was a bit dark.

That bathtub was incredible after a long day of walking, such a nice way to unwind. They’d also stocked useful things like combs and razors. We liked the dining area’s style, too. It had just the relaxed Kyoto feel we wanted after the bustle of Tokyo. Highly recommend!
