Kamohan

That bath is so easy to use, just touch a button and you get the right temperature and amount of water. Every detail feels high quality, from the towels and facilities to the interior design. It’s a place where you can slow down and enjoy time alone or with someone you love. Love it!

The decor is lovely and the view is really nice, but I wouldn’t call the layout practical for a family. The upstairs room looks great, though its bed area is quite dark. When you come in, you step straight into a small kitchen with a table for four that opens directly onto the street. The bathroom is downstairs and the bedroom is upstairs. With four people, two have to sleep in a passageway, so there’s no real privacy. Anyone making coffee or heading outside has to walk past them.

The staff speak excellent English, and the room has an induction cooker and washing machine, which made it easy to relax in the afternoon. The room itself was very comfortable. For a peaceful night by the Kamo River and a taste of Japan’s tranquility, I highly recommend Kamohan. It’s a great spot to unwind in Kyoto without the pressure of sightseeing.

Getting here was a little tricky at first, but taxis were easy to hail and the location is very convenient. This is a relaxing little inn by the Kamo River. The building may be old, but it’s well kept, and the kitchen is equipped well enough to use even if you bring your own wine.
