I was suspicious at first because the price seemed too good for the location and the booking.com photos. But it turned out to be completely legit, and great value. It’s only a few minutes on foot from Kyoto station, on the quieter side. The reception is small and quaint, with a semi-modern look that still feels Japanese. Staff were there and attentive, and check-in was quick and easy. My regular twin room was much bigger than I expected, very modern, clean, functional, and welcoming. I’ve stayed at plenty of other Kyoto hotels, and this was easily the best value for money I’ve had. The location, facilities, and service were all top notch. Thanks for having me!

We’ve been traveling around Japan for nearly a month, and the gentleman at the front desk has been the most hospitable person we’ve met so far. He took time to check us in, explain how to get to our room and nearby attractions, and tell us about the property’s amenities. Arigato Gozaimasu for such a great experience!

Kansei in Kyoto feels calm and beautiful, with traditional Japanese style alongside modern comforts. Our room was spotless and the staff were incredibly kind. It was also easy and enjoyable to explore Kyoto from this location.

The hotel is very close to Kyoto station, so getting around was easy. The staff were great and very helpful. There’s a laundry room inside, plus free hot water and tea in several flavors.

The people working here were lovely, always smiling and greeting us. Being so close to the train station worked really well since we took trains to most places around Kyoto. I also had enough room to unpack properly, which I haven’t had at some other places.
