The guest house is in a convenient spot, making it easy to get around Kyoto. The neighborhood felt quiet, family-friendly, and safe, and, like the rest of Kyoto, it was clean. I had a pleasant stay in a shared room and enjoyed chatting with other travelers. The house itself was quite clean, and the owners were kind and helpful. The man spoke very good English. They also offer private rooms.

There are grocery shops and restaurants nearby, though not a lot of them. The guest rooms are spread across three or four floors, with no elevator, and you can only shower or use a hairdryer in the shared area during certain hours. It's on a quiet street about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, so it can be a bit hard to find. Carrying heavy luggage made the walk a struggle, but it was manageable.

The owners are very kind, and English and Korean are available. It's about 10 minutes from Kyoto-station, with a convenience store roughly five minutes away. Kyoto Aquarium is close enough to walk to. Wi-Fi is available, but the shower is on the first floor, so remember to bring your towel and clothes.

When I got food poisoning in Kyoto and had to go to the hospital, the owner of Guest House Kyoto helped translate the doctor's information for me. I'm so grateful for that. The place is clean and simple, with excellent service, and it's close to everything. I had a great experience and highly recommend it.
